While the Chicago Cubs and the Cleveland Indians battle it out on the field in the World Series, we’re putting our deep dish pizza on the line in a few friendly wagers over the outcome.
ABC7 in Chicago vs. ABC in Cleveland
ABC7 Chicago agreed to send ABC Cleveland some Chicago goodies, including our deep dish pizza, Eli’s cheesecake, and Vienna Beef hot dogs if the Cubs lose to the Indians, and if the Cubs win, ABC Cleveland promised to send “the most coveted Christmas ale you can find in Cleveland.”
While here in Chicago, we’re known for our deep dish, apparently Cleveland is known for their…Christmas ale? Clearly Chicago has the better baseball team and food scene!

Archbishop Cupich vs. Bishop Lennon
We’re backing Chicago Archbishop Blase J. Cupich for a second time in a wager with Cleveland’s Bishop Richard G. Lennon. If Cleveland takes the series, Lou Malnati’s and Misericordia’s Hearts & Flour Bakery will be feeding more than 100 guests of the Bishop William M. Cosgrove Center in Cleveland. But if the Cubs bring home the W, Bishop Lennon will be feeding more than 100 guests of the evening supper program for the homeless, sponsored by Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago.
This wager is supporting a few great causes and we are proud to be a part of it!

Lou Malnati’s vs. Antonio’s
We had to get in on the wager action, too! Earlier this week, Marc Malnati challenged Cleveland pizzeria, Antonio’s, to a friendly wager involving pizza and…tomato sauce. Check out Marc’s video below, along with Vince from Antonio’s reply.
Vince appeared on Fox News in Cleveland, where they aired both challenge videos and did a fair about of trash talking, too. We still don’t think Marc Malnati is in danger of getting sauced though, because this is the year!
As the series comes to the North Side this weekend, remember, you don’t have to be a part of a wager to enjoy our deep dish pizza!
